QDTV

Quantum Dot Television will be the new OLED but on steroids. We are talking about much better resolutions and longer battery life. Sparking a whole new range of products from cameras to smart phones.

 

3D PRINTERS

It sounds like science fiction. A bit like a replicator from Star Trek but this is no hoax. Designed to produce spare parts in space, these printers reproduce actual objects with moving parts and different colors. Soon, you will be able to order products of the internet that are custom designed that will be printed in a local 3D Printer Hub. Eventually, we will each have one of these at home along side the fridge and dishwasher.

Wait, theres more. There are soon to be medical 3D printers. They can print on to the body, skin or other organs. Alternatively, they will just print an organ like a replacement heart or kidney that will be transplanted. Check out this TED video

The rise of smart phones means the rise of mobile viruses. Evil programmes that will hijack your phone and do bad things. So, a new industry is born. Mobile Anti-virus apps.

Printing will become a lot easier with the distribution of cloud printers. These intelligent printing machines allow printing by email saving time hassle with printer setup. Printing from your IPAD and smart phone becomes a reality

 

IPAD 3 / NEW ANDROIDS

Apples next re-incarnation of the IPAD will no doubt be a huge seller. Increased screen resolution, voice control, 4G and better battery life are expected. This will further spur on the tablet wars so expect the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 out soon.

 

ULTRA BOOKS

The laptop becomes an Ultra Book. Taking all the best bits from laptops such as power and speed with the battery life, size and weight of a net book. The Ultra Books will look stylish and be very cool.

 

WEB TV BOXES

TVs connected to the internet with streaming HD in perfect quality will spread. My Sony Bravia has this and it is phenomenal. No need for SKY anymore.

 

REALLY REALLY CHEAP ENERGY FROM SOLAR POWER

Most solar power today is by boring flat panel  for electricity or for home hotwater. The future though is really cool concentrated solar power. Mirrors which track the suns movement point the suns rays at a panel or water tank for super power. These babies will power cities and selft clean giving energy at a fraction of the cost.

Now, if these babies are built around the equator using to high voltage power lines that can transfer energy over large distances without power degradation then you have cheap worldwide energy whilst also helping Africa.

And cheap energy feeds through the entire economy to lower costs, stops the dependence on oil rich evil countries and improves quality of life for all. Mashiach…mashiach…mashiach…

If you know how to invest in these companies, tell me. One company to watch is Israeli / LA based BrightSource which are building a power plant in Nevada. I would buy shares but they are all privately owned.

 

BIO PRODUCTS TO CHANGE THE WORLD

New developments in Bio Technology now mean that improvements that took years, now take weeks. New bacteria that can produce crude oil from sugar and clean up the environment are just round the corner.

 

HEMP

Hemp is fast growing and puts nutrients back into the soil as it grows. It is so fast growing that it can be used to solve a lot of the worlds energy  needs. There are varieties with out the interesting THC which could be harnassed.

 

VIRTUAL REALITY

This is my own prediction but I am convinced given the improvements in screen resolutions with QDTV and bandwidth that an 2012 version of the virtual reality headsets should be out soon

 

SMART HOMES

More and more fridges will be smart fridges, telling us when food is off. Linked with the massive amount of always on smart phones and wifi at home, its only a matter of time before our homes are smarter than us.

 

NEW ENTREPENEURS

As jobs go, new businesses start. The economy needs this and the government knows. David Cameron wants the government to free up unused buildings for small businesses to use at low cost. Meanwhile, Old Street is becoming  Tech City. Entrepreneurs need related services for small businesses and a supporting tax structure to support the businesses.
